Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Salati ("the app", "we", "us") handles and why. It applies to the Salati iOS app operated by the developer.

Location

Salati uses your device's location to calculate accurate prayer times for where you are. Location is processed on your device and cached locally so the app doesn't have to ask repeatedly. We do not transmit your precise location to our servers or share it with third parties. You can revoke location access at any time in the iOS Settings app; the app will fall back to approximate times.

Screen Time & app selections

App blocking is powered by Apple's Family Controls (Screen Time). When you choose which apps to block, iOS represents them as private, opaque tokens. These tokens are stored only on your device and are never sent to us. Salati cannot see how you use your apps — it only knows which ones you asked it to block during your prayer windows, and only enforces this during those windows.

Data we store to sync your progress

To back up and sync your progress across reinstalls, we store the following in our cloud database (Google Firebase), associated with a randomly generated device identifier rather than your name or Apple ID:

• Your prayer completion records and reading streak
• Your Quran reading progress (which surah/ayah you last read)
• Your subscription status (active plan and expiry), used to unlock Premium features

This identifier is not linked to your real-world identity, and you are not required to create an account or sign in to use Salati.

Analytics

We may collect basic, aggregated usage analytics (for example, that a feature was used) through Firebase to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This data is not used to identify you personally and is not sold.

Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment details. Apple provides us only with your subscription's status so we can unlock Premium features. Subscription management and cancellation are handled in your Apple ID settings.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your personal data.
• We do not display advertising.
• We do not monitor, log, or transmit your activity in other apps.
• We do not require an account, email, or password to use the app.

Children

Salati is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Data retention & your choices

You can clear locally cached data (including your Quran cache) from within the app's settings. Deleting the app removes its on-device data. To request deletion of the synced records associated with your device identifier, contact us at the email below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
